Hey, Girls!

Jeans are an every day staple. If you’re small like me, you may wonder what to do with all of that length. You’re not alone.

This question was sent to me by Kari:
“I’m short and my skinny jeans are so long. I never know how short I should hem them or if I should just roll them because I wear so many different kinds of shoes, and I don’t want to be limited by the length What is the rule of thumb?”

Well…there is no rule of thumb. The great thing about skinny jeans, as well as straight jeans, is that because they’re narrow at the hem you don’t have to worry about them dragging on the ground too much, especially the ultra skinny ones.

However, depending upon the length of the jeans, your height, and your style personality you may or many not like having them bunch up on your ankles.

I wear my skinny and straight jeans cuffed quite a few different ways:

• Turn under 4”, then roll up 2” – when jeans are dark and solid – no color break.
• 2” single or double roll – some fading on jeans is good to match the underside.
• 1 tall cuff up, then a smaller roll up leaving tattered hem exposed – good with ripped jeans or a boyfriend cut
• 1 tall cuff – good with light to medium washed jeans – less of a color break.

What you like depends on your height, the shoes you’re wearing and your preference of the kind of roll you want to add. If you are tall a “color break” is OK as your height can handle it. But if you are short or petite this can give the appearance that you are shorter.

I also wrote a blog on this. Here’s the link.

If you have a question also post it in the comment section below.  I check it daily. Since the topic is always about fashion or style no question that you ask will be “off Topic.”

That means as far as I’m concerned, when you ask a question that is the topic. Everyone else who’s reading it can follow up on my answer. There will be no questions that you ask that will be too far off topic because your question will be the current topic. So…ask away!

Oh…and your email address is not “required” even though it says so.  Don’t even ask.
