If you have a question also post it in the comment section below. I check it daily. Since the topic is always about fashion or style no question that you ask will be “off Topic.”
That means as far as I’m concerned, when you ask a question that is the topic. Everyone else who’s reading it can follow up on my answer. There will be no questions that you ask that will be too far off topic because your question will be the current topic. So…ask away!
Oh…and your email address is not “required” even though it says so. Don’t even ask.

Fantastic tips, as always. Thank you Michelle!
I’m curious on what your take is on festival wear for the more mature woman. I still love my music, arts and interactions in a festival setting. I want to feel inspired, sexy and vibrant and respect the fact that I’m no longer 20-30 (or even 40). Thoughts?
Hi, Kathleen,
Thank you for your kind kudos! I’m delighted you’re enjoying my tips!
Whenever, I partake in a festival, including Burning Man, I always take into consideration my the message that I want others to know about me. First impressions are everything even in a festival setting where you are meeting people. And because festivals have a tendency to bring out our alter egos we can have lots of fun, but often can send a message different than we intend or people can arrive at assumptions about us that are incorrect because of the environment that we are in.
So I suggest that you be mindful of what your clothing is saying about you. These days, we have the internet so when we could be anonymous in the past, that is not the case anymore. So I always want to be careful of what I choose to wear because of this. Our creativity is boundless so I feel that I can still be inspired, sexy, and vibrant without exposing too much.
I personally like to focus on one area of my body that I love and wear something that enhances that area. If you’ve got wonderful legs show them off, and play down the rest. There is nothing wrong with loving an area on yourself and paying tribute to that area.
It is easy to expose many parts – you see it all over festivals- There is an art in feeling and being inspired, sexy, and vibrant, without showing it all. That is not a judgement. It is perfectly fine if one wants to leave little left to the imagination. But then one will have to be OK with the results and the assumptions that others make. And…most importantly, if you’re going to dress that way then do it with confidence and don’t be apologetic about it.
My suggestion to you is to wear what feels right for you. The beauty of our clothing is it can be our costume, our armor, our power partner ++ . Forget about your age, you’re a beautiful girl (Inside and out!) and just be mindful of what you’re outfit is saying about you. Play with it – experiment. If you get attention your don’t want you can always change. As long as you’re OK with what your outfit is saying about you, go for it and “rock the look.” If someone makes an assumption, say “thank you” if it’s true, or be your badass self and correct him or her if it’s not true. 🙂
Most importantly, dress authentically and in an outfit that makes you feel confident – Hold yourself high like the most important opinion of yourself is you. And it is! 🙂
I hope this was helpful. xox
