Do you hang onto your clothing like a codependent relationship?

When it comes to the reasons why we hang onto an item of clothing, like I’ve said, I’ve heard it all. And I do understand. Just because I’m a stylist, don’t think that I haven’t strolled down memory lane a few times in my closet or hung onto things that I know I need to say goodbye to. We’re all human and, like in some relationships, we can get a teensy bit too attached. The relationships we have with our clothing can be just as clinging.

Follow my 7 tips and you should be able to either keep an item…or dump it. Download the worksheet!

And…

If all else fails, and you’re really struggling with getting rid of something because it has a warm sentimental value, don’t stress. I have the perfect solution if you must keep it. Just head over to my Vlog for my Bonus tip!

Bonus tip!
  1. 1 Remove it out of your main wardrobe closet where it is only taking up precious closet space;
  2. Fold it neatly and wrap it in tissue paper;
  3. Store it in a special place. Perhaps in a trunk or chest where you like to keep other sentimental valuables;
  4. Pull it out, admire it, or put it on for a few minutes if needed, when you feel like strolling down memory lane;
  5. Fold it neatly again and wrap it in tissue paper so that it’s ready for you to admire again and again when you feel the need.

So there you have it. You have your work cut out for you. But stick with my tips and you’ll have great results.

Now, it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from you.  Your insights and inspiration are appreciated so please share your stories in the comments below.

If you have a question also post it in the comment section below.  I check it daily. Since the topic is always about fashion or style no question that you ask will be “off Topic.”

That means as far as I’m concerned, when you ask a question that is the topic. Everyone else who’s reading it can follow up on my answer. There will be no questions that you ask that will be too far off topic because your question will be the current topic. So…ask away!

Oh…and your email address is not “required” even though it says so.  Don’t even ask.

Love,

~Michelle
