What Were They Thinking?

What’s the one basic staple in our wardrobes that almost everyone has in their closet?

No matter what Body-Type or Size you are, no matter your Lifestyle-Requirements, your Personality, your Coloring, or your Age and Gender, almost everyone owns one.

Did you guess what that is?

Let me give you a hint: They’re great for the weekend or “Casual Fridays.” They come in many colors but blue is the most popular.

“Ahh,” you’re thinking, “Jeans, of course!”

You got that right. You’ve got your favorite pair. Or perhaps a few faves in different styles. I’m right there with you.

It seems though that a few out there in the design world are getting a little bored and think they can improve on our beloved blues. I’m not talking making them more comfy, or more sexy, or more cool, or even more flattering in the derrière – that has been done quite well over the years.

No, these designers want to take a great classic, and in my opinion, get crazy on it.

Let me share the latest:

Opening Ceremony in the UK is the designer of these ahem…jean gems, and this is what they had to say:

We’ve all been there – it’s a chilly morning so you pop on a pair of jeans. But then, that afternoon, the heat comes out of nowhere. You’re suddenly sweltering and all you wish is that your blasted jeans could transform into shorts.

 Well dream no more.

 Detachable jeans that turn into shorts are now a thing – but they’ll set you back £346.Created by Opening Ceremony and the Y/Project, the jeans can be unbuttoned to become super-short shorts – so short they’ll reveal your under-butt – in an instant. They’re practically hot-pants.

Believe me, no matter how you envision it, it’s much worse. Don’t believe me? Here’s the proof:
