The other day I was shopping (what else is new!), and besides the praises I was getting from wearing my new jacket (think “Warhol” print or as my mother likes to call it, my “Shazam” Jacket), salespeople were raving about my…eyelashes. Yes, you read that right, my gorgeous thick, looong lashes.
So while I was thinking about what I wanted to write about this week, I started perusing my make-up drawer and realized that lately I have been addicted to a few products, using them daily. Then I went upstairs to make my smoothie and discovered that I was hooked on this particular smoothie as well, drinking one everyday.
Today, I want to share my top 5 fave (inside & outside) addictions.
Some are ones that I ingest “inside” my tummy, and some are ones that I apply to the “outside” of my face! These are in no particular order and they are by no means, all of the products I use. I just wanted to share a few of my faves today that have been getting my attention in a big way.
#1 Addiction:
Since I already shared the kudos I’m getting about my lashes, let’s start with that one. The product is called “Lash Boost.” And that is exactly what it does. If your lashes need a boost, and in my opinion, we could all use a little boost, this is the product.
Lash Boost guarantees longer, fuller, darker lashes. I have to say I was skeptical because I’ve tried a few of the lash serums out there (I won’t name names), but they didn’t work and only stung my eyes.
Then, thanks to my dear friend Jayne Brodie, I tried Lash Boost. No stinging or any other yucky side effects. Lash Boost did exactly what Jayne said it would and my guess is, it will do the same for you.
If you’ve been reading my writes for some time now, you know how I feel about accessorizing. Think about this:
Your Eyes Should Be One of Your Best Accessories!
I love that! So true!
Interested? This would be a great girlfriend gift for the Holidays, or one for yourself (or both!). Reach out to Jayne – Give her a call (415-272-7890) or shoot her an email (jaynebrodie@gmail.com), and she’ll hook you up with 10% off, FREE shipping and a Special GIFT with purchase. Or, if you prefer, you can order Lash Boost directly here: https://jaynebrodie.myrandf.com/Shop/Product/ENHLSH01
And…if you’re not completely happy with the product, there is a 60-day money back guarantee – no questions asked. You can’t beat that.
#2 Addiction:
Since we’re on the topic of lashes, I discovered another lash product that I love and want to share. Now that my lashes are longer, fuller, and darker, thanks to Jayne and Lash Boost, I want to make sure that I get the most WOW out of them. I love adding “PureLash” by Jane Iredale to my beauty regime.
A single coat of this conditioner before applying mascara will help strengthen, lengthen and thicken your lashes, making the mascara twice as effective.
Sometimes I just use this and no mascara. It lengthens and thickens, and dries clear. I love this option because many times I just don’t want to deal with the mess that black mascara leaves when I remove it and/or I wash my face.
Here’s the link if you’re interested in trying it too. Click here for PureLash.
#3 Addiction:
I’m a huge fan of Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. I’ve been using it daily for a few years now. I slather some on my face, douse a quarter size in my hair, put it on my body after I bathe, and add a few tablespoons to my smoothies. In my opinion, it is the one miracle cure for so many things.
A few years ago I picked up a wonderful book called “The Coconut Cures” by Dr. Bruce Fife. Dr. Fife has found that the health properties in coconut oil has a multitude of applications from stopping the progression of Autism to conquering Alzheimers.
After reading his book, I made a point to include coconut oil in my daily health and beauty regimes. I just love the taste and what it does for my hair, body, and face. And if ingesting it is good for me too, I’m all over it.
There’s lots of brands out there. Find one you love, and go to town.
#4 Addiction:
Speaking of eating things that are good for me, I live for my morning smoothie – my very healthy, and let me add, sooo delicious smoothie – because I add a few tablespoons of my coconut oil along with a few tablespoons of Navitas Organic Cacao Powder. (This particular smoothie has no greens and no fruits. Curious? Request the recipe in the comments section of my recent blog and you shall receive! I promise this is a winner!)
There is no sugar in Cacao – so sweeten your smoothie (Or whatever else you put it in) how you please. I suggest a few raw dates, a teaspoon of honey, or fresh or frozen fruit.
I’ve discovered that the less I eat of refined sugar the less I crave it. I used to keep a very dark bar of organic chocolate in my desk drawer…but no more! A morning smoothie with Cacao, coconut oil, and a few other ingredients does it for me. It’s so delicious. I feel like I’m indulging but in a really healthy way.

#5 Addiction:
A good friend of mine Robin always makes the best kale salads, but no matter what I do to copy her recipe I could never make it taste the same as hers. I was baffled.
One day I asked her why, after using the same ingredients for my kale salad that she had, mine was never as tasty?
She replied, “Are you using Maldon salt?” I stared at her and said, “No.”
I knew she was sprinkling salt on her salad, and she had told me the name before, but I didn’t think it would make any difference. I’ve tried many different types of salt that I enjoyed immensely, but didn’t really taste that much of a difference between one and another.
Robin looked at me and casually said, “It’s the Maldon salt. You need to buy some.” Okey dokey.
I went to the store, bought some, made the kale salad, and she was exactly right. It was the salt. That following year I had a little birthday party and that was my party gift to all my girlfriends – a box of Maldon salt. That is how much I love it. Now all my girlfriends love it too.

There you have it – My top 5 addictions. Let me know if you try any, and if you love the results and/or the taste!
